A petition for an Alien Relative is the first step in the family based green card process. A U.S Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident must establish or prove a relationship to an eligible relative who wishes to come to or remain in the United States permanently.
Apply to become a permanent resident through adjustment of status if you are a non-US citizen who is in the United States and is eligible to apply for a green card based on sponsorship by a family member, employer, or based on their refugee status/asylum in the United States.
If applying for a green card outside of the U.S and once your immigration petition has been approved, you must apply for an immigrant visa which is handled through the National Visa Center and your local U.S Embassy or Consulate.
If you are a green card holder and meet certain eligibility requirements, you may apply to become a U.S Citizen.
If you are a green card holder and your card is soon to expire, has expired, lost, damaged, stolen, never received, or it contains incorrect information you must apply for the renewal/replacement process.
If you are a DACA recipient and your card is soon to expire you must apply for a renewal between 120 and 150 days before your current DACA expires.
The Conditional Green Card is given based on marriage to a U.S. citizen, and lasts two (2) years. To avoid losing your lawful status, before your conditional green card expires, you must apply to remove conditions on your residence. There is no option to renew it.
